(200) 7-19-2011 Henry Doorly Zoo- Omaha, Nebraska

We went to the BEST zoo in the world. I have NEVER been to a better zoo. I have been to several, and this one surpassed them ALL!

Most of it was indoors seeing as they were having a heat wave and it was as hot there as it was here, except the heat index was higher! They had different habitats and they went all out!

There was the "Creatures of The Night" exhibit, and it was all the animals that just came out at night, and the whole thing was like you were walking through there in the middle of the night. There was the swap that was pitch black except for a few dim spotlights. We were quite impressed with the Texas animals!
The Texas Ratsnake: There were even armadillos! HEHE!!!The bats were going crazy and the smelled SO bad I took this picture and RAN!! Then, they had the information center that was a little more hands on and things were closer up. Madi and Rachel got to pet a snake! The rainforest was AMAZING. It was HUGE. You entered on the top and walked around and ended up on the bottom floor and it looked like you were walking around in a real rainforest.

Rachel got to pet a bird. I thought that someone was holding one, but no, it was on the railing and she touched it. She was excited!! Can't you tell!

They had the rope bridges! Rachel went back and forth quite a few times. The animals in the water were so cool. There were so many of them.

This is my favorite picture from the day! She was showing us what the stingray was doing! She really liked the sting rays!

They had a walk through aquarium that had all kids of sharks, turtles, and TONS of fish.

I loved watching my girls have fun together. Rachel was showing Madi everything and telling her all about it!

The penguins were another BIG hit. We were there for a LONG time. Good thing they have to be cold!

Madi was in penguin heaven!

Then, there was the insect house! EWWWWW gross! These are giant stick bugs! The roaches were disgusting!!!The butterflies were the reason we wanted to go to this exhibit. It was neat to see all the cocoons with the butterflies emerging.

We loved watching the beautiful butterflies flying all around us. We were so hoping that one would land on us!

This was my attempt at getting them together looking at me! GREAT HUH?

The monkeys were a hit too. There was a family inside one exhibit, and the mom and baby were playing together. It was so cute. I love this one!

Then, the baby came over to perform for the kids. He was so funny. Every time you would put your hand on the glass, her would fall down. We watched him for a long time.

This gorilla was not a happy camper today. He was banging on and off at the people. Rachel was not intimidated!

The desert area was pretty cool. It was HUGE!!!

Madi was mesmerized with the birds.

She was a fan of the ducks too.

Rachel was running through trying to see everything before us!

It was an amazing day. This was the reason we went and I am so glad we did. I will never forget it, and I am hoping some day we can go back!

(199) 7-18-2011 Driving All Night

Well, driving all night was tough, but a GREAT decision!!! We woke up, and watched the sun rise in Kansas. It was neat. Rachel enjoyed watching it. Nobody really slept well in the car, but the ride was good. Thanks to Daddy for driving almost 12 hours through the night!

We got to our hotel around 9:30 or 10 and found out this was across the parking lot!!! We just thought we weren't going to a Vegas type vacation. It was good, because Lance LOVES Vegas and loves to play Pai Gow. After we checked in, they let us check in right when we got there, we went to have breakfast, and then back to the hotel for a much needed nap. When we got up, we went to the mall to kill some time and then went swimming at the indoor pool. The kiddos went to bed on time and while Nana watched the girls sleep, Lance and I went over to the casino. We played Pai Gow and when I dropped $30, I went over to this slot machine:
thinking I would try to make my money back, and NOPE, I dropped the other $20. So, I left Lance to win some more, and headed back to the room. BIG day tomorrow!!!

(198) 7-17-2011 Packing For Our Trip!

Today I spent most of the day packing for our 4 day road trip while Lance slept most of the day. I packed the girls and I in the big suitcase, and Lance had his own. We left around 9:30 or so, to drive through the night and end up in Council Bluffs, Iowa!

(197) 7-16-2011 Happy 32nd Birthday To Me!!!

I got my own special cupcake for my birthday!!!I was woken up pretty early so my oldest baby could give me my birthday card. She really wanted to be the first one. I loved it. Then, after a while, I got my present from them that was wrapped solely by her!She did a great job. And I love my new watch!!!So then, the neighbor's party was at 3 and we delivered the flower cupcakes.I think they turned out pretty well. This big one was for, Kirra, the birthday girl! Here are some of the assorted flowers. She really liked them! After opening presents, and eating cupcakes, the kiddos went outside and played on Kirra's new water slide. It was a fun day. I enjoyed hanging out with the neighbors, and having my family with me. It was a good one. Only 364 more days till my next one!

A friend of our, Danielle, and Lance decided to start a little business after he made the Great Wolf Cupcakes. So, we started a Facebook Page for Baker's Dozen. Well, our neighbor forgot to order her daughter's cake, so it was the perfect match, and we were hired to do her flower cupcakes! Rachel even got in on the action!
Here were the practice cupcakes. I know GOOD right? When he finished, our fridge was FULL OF CUPCAKES!!! We will deliver them tomorrow, so I will post pics of the finished product.

(195) 7-14-2011 Coupons And Coffee!!!

This is what I woke up to this morning. Rachel came and got me because this was in their bathtub! Then, I got a text from my neighbor about the Coupon Swap and Coffee she was having. So, I took the girls and headed across the street.
While we talked and looked through coupons, the girls worked out! :-)Then as we were in her computer room, printing coupons, the little girls were playing in the dresser. It was so much fun, I can't wait till we do it again!
