Madie's Birth Story And Some PICS!!!

Well, I have been gone a long time, and I am FINALLY sitting down to post. We have welcomed out newest addition to the family and things are wonderful.
After 16 weeks of bedrest, I went into labor on January 5th with contractions 2-5 minutes apart for 2 hours. I took my meds so I could make it to my baby shower on the 9th. After I took them, the contractions stopped for 2 hours and then they made their appearance with a vengeance. They were back but now only 2-3 minutes apart. We prepared to head to the hospital and then my Rachie started trowing up and feeling awful!!! I called my mom who lives very close to stay with her while we headed to Stephenville to see what was going on. By the time she got here Rachel was so lethargic that I just couldn't leave her. So after much debate and some crying on my part (my baby needed her mommy while she was sick!!!) we loaded her up and put her in the back of the expedition with Lance and some bowls to puke in. I got in the drivers seat and drove myself and my little family to the hospital all the while making calls to everyone to tell them what was going on. I got ahold of Rachel's dr. and she called in some meds to stop the puking that had been going on for a couple hours every 10 minutes. We took Rachel to Mimi's and then we drove to the hospital. (NOTE: Rachel stopped trowing up once she got to Mimi's and had her medicine, so she was good to go on coming to the hospital if I did have the baby!) Thank God for quick viruses.
When I got there it was time to take my meds again and they had me take them to "see" if this was the real thing. They kept checking me and there was "NO CHANGE", I got so tired of hearing those words!!! They held me overnight to see if they would stop. They didn't let me have any food or water either. (NOTE: I didn't eat after we decided to head to the hospital because I just knew I was going to have a c-section that night.) So, in the middle of the night I got a little feisty with the nurses because I was really REALLY hungry!!! The next morning I just knew the contractions had stopped and I was going to have to wait longer to meet out little one. Then my dr. came in and told me I had been contracting every 4 minutes all night. So, this was the real thing she thought and we would do the c-section when all the surgeries for the day were over. I was a bit scared then, because I KNEW now that we were having this baby!!! I was 36 weeks and 4 days, so she was still considered a preemie and there was still a chance that she would have trouble!
At 2:00PM they prepared me to go into surgery. I had to walk myself, and boy if that was not the scariest thing. I was terrified. I hated watching them prepare for the c-section. So, at 2:52, we met our little Rebekah Madison "Madie"!!! She was screaming, so they knew she didn't have any lung trouble, and she was perfect. They let me love her a bit and then took her to meet her big sister. She weighed in at 6 lbs 2 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. We couldn't have hoped for better. She only left my side for about 30 minutes and then she was with us for good. It was all I could have hoped for with this being my last baby. It was as perfect as I had dreamed.
A crazy birth story that I could have never begun to think of, but it is over and we are all healthy and happy. SO, without further delay, here is our Madie Boo at 3 weeks old!!! Thanks to Nana who has been taking TONS of pics so I don't have to!!!
LOVE THIS HAT!!! THANKS NANA!!!

I am a bit swamped in my world right now, so I will hopefully sit down and really blog later, but I did want to let all my loyal followers know that we did welcome our new little girl into the world on January 6, 2010. She entered the world by C-section at 2:52 PM, after me going into full blown labor. She weighed 6 lbs 2oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. We are doing great.

Her Nana has been taking tons of pics, and keeping up her blog, so I will send you over there until I can get this house back in order and adjust to being the mother of 2 beautiful girls.
